Which Avenkind resource fits your family today?

Your child stops at an animal picture. They want a turn with the plant, or a small job while you set the table. That interest gives you a place to begin. Choose the resource that helps you offer the next step.

These English-language resources are for families with children generally around ages 3–6, with adult preparation, support and supervision. Each is sold separately as a digital download.

Forest: give an animal interest a next step

For a first matching round, an adult prints page 5 and cuts out the fox and deer cards: two animals, four cards. Set the separate word labels aside. Name the animals, show one picture match and leave room for your child to point, move a card or look quietly.

The cards make that first invitation concrete. The Parent Field Guide helps you choose a smaller invitation, show the first step and decide whether another layer fits. Meet, Tell, Count, Sort and Solve give you other ways to return to the material.

Choose Forest if you want printable materials to explore and reuse. You can begin indoors. An adult prepares cut cards and selects suitable counters when an activity calls for them.

See Forest's example pages and preparation.

Garden: decide whether care is needed

A child asks to water a plant. You check it and find that watering can wait. You can still look together for one visible detail, choose an available response from Care, Wait or Ask, and make a picture or pointing record to bring back next time.

The choice tools make the response visible. The record gives you something to compare when you return. The Parent Field Guide keeps care conditional and helps you offer a role while you retain responsibility for the plant.

Choose Garden if you have one familiar plant whose identity and suitability you have checked. A yard is optional. Before watering, the adult confirms the need and premeasures the amount. This pack does not identify plants or diagnose plant health.

See Garden's invitations and choice tools.

Helping at Home: make a small role available

Setting the table includes a role you can make smaller: carrying two suitable napkins. Read the guidance, prepare the materials and show the first step. Stay available while your child takes part.

The guide covers 15 everyday moments, with adult responsibilities, ways to offer a smaller role and places to finish. Optional visual cue cards can support an invitation when they are useful.

Choose Helping when you want guidance for work your household already does. The adult selects the role and manages sharp, hot or breakable items. You can read the guide digitally and print only the cue pages you choose.

See Helping's guide and visual cues.

Math: make a relationship visible

Set out two sturdy, nonbreakable bowls and two suitable spoons. You can say, “One spoon for each bowl.” Show one placement if help is welcome, then pause.

The objects let your child look at and try the relationship. Eight Math Lenses help the adult notice what is happening and choose a starting action or response. The complete guide supplies the method; its print companion is optional.

Choose Math if you want to use everyday objects for exploring relationships. You can begin by reading the guide without printing. Prepare suitable objects for the invitation you choose.

12 Weeks: put the activity decisions in one place

Choosing an activity leaves several decisions: what to gather, what to show and when to stop. Open a menu or quick index, choose one invitation, then read its materials and readiness cue before offering it.

The activity page includes a demonstration, an easier option and stop conditions. These details help you decide how to offer that particular invitation. There are 60 invitations across 12 flexible weekly menus.

Choose 12 Weeks if you want a broader choice with practical guidance together. Begin anywhere, repeat an invitation or skip a week. Read digitally and print selected pages when helpful. There is no need to print the whole guide or follow a fixed weekly timetable.
